Douglas has been drawing most of his life. He started with pencil and progressed into pen & ink, through his early 20's. His landscape paintings embody an expressionistic style and he uses bright bold colors. He is a world traveler and visits art museums and galleries along the way. Douglas is a great admirer of French impressionism, especially Monet. He has also been inspired by American landscape painters, such as ZZ Wei and Edward Hopper. Douglas has studied original works at the MET in New York, The Louvre in Paris, and The National Gallery in London. His works are collected around the world.
